Drain Cleaning without Harsh Chemicals
Many people don’t immediately recognize the onset of a clogged drain until it’s too late. A clogged drain will lead to you many problems that will be costly and damaging. It starts out with the inability to use the sink, shower, or toilet and then those issues could turn into a chronic clog that could cause water damage from over-flowing water.
The most common clog removal method is pouring a chemical mixture from your local supermarket down the drain. While this is an effective method, it does have its disadvantages such as high toxicity levels, chemicals degrading your pipes, and the plastic containers may end up in landfills or bodies of water instead of being disposed correctly.
Luckily, with a few household items you can clear that clog while helping the environment and saving your pipes.
Items:
- ½ cup of Baking soda
- 1 cup of Vinegar
- Hot Water
Steps:
- Remove stopper
- Pour baking soda down the drain
- Pour vinegar down the drain
- Wait 10 minutes
- Pour hot water down the drain
- Replace stopper
You may need to repeat the process a second for third time for really stubborn clogs. If you are still experiencing a blockage, contact your local Roto-Rooter because there could be a larger undetected problem.
